“Always [give] thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.” [Ephesians 5:20]
Today I am thankful for community.
The student ministry (Remix) that we’re involved with here really emphasizes community, and we try to spend lots of time with each other to deepen our relationships and strengthen our community. That is why tonight our men’s and women’s small groups went to play laser tag!!! Oh my goodness, we had a blast! Not only was it at the best laser tag center I’ve been to, but we were all able to bond and connect through playing with each other :)
I thank God that He has brought us here; that we are blessed with our friendships here in France and that we have found a wonderful community. And also I’m thankful for laser tag ;)
Is there something you’re feeling thankful for today?
Maggie,
You are not the only one who adores ‘laser tag’!! :) I have only had the opportunity to play it once in the past, and although it wasn’t the best of experiences I was run ragged by a player who was more cutthroat than sportsmanlike, but what I loved out of that moment was the sheer fun of being inside a darkened space, attempting to sort out the mode of the game, and being in a position to where your wearing the game and playing at the same time! It was an impressive experience for sure! I’d love to play again in the future, but if I could play with friends rather than acquaintances, I know I would appreciate it even more, as like you said, its a bonding gaming experience! :) And, honestly, I’m not a diehard player to the regards that I have to win in order to have fun! I’d rather connect with the other players and enjoy the time in that ‘world’ than have to think constantly about points or scores or who hit whom and the stats at the end! :O Mind you, I did do one thing unexpectedly my first time at laser tag: I beat the bloke at his own game as I used less ammunition to hit more targets! Go me! :)
I am thankful today (literally today, not the day you wrote this!) that my outside weather is cooling down to where walking in nature can occur more often than during the months of fiery heat!
